Problem with playing samples

Hello,

After adding a new sample bank to the Dirt-Samples folder, I am not able to play consecutive samples in various sample banks.

For istance, I am able to play:

d1 $ sound "bd"

But am not able to play:

d1 $ sound "bd:2"

I have recompiled class library, restarted both sc and atom etc. but still am able to play only the first sample from various sample banks.

I get the following information in sc: ---- SC3-Plugins not found. This is not a problem.Note that we are using a comb delay, which may not sound the same as SwitchDelay from the plugins ---- core synth defs loaded ---- loading synthdefs in /Users/phlux/Library/Application Support/SuperCollider/downloaded-quarks/SuperDirt/classes/../synths/core-synths.scd loading synthdefs in /Users/phlux/Library/Application Support/SuperCollider/downloaded-quarks/SuperDirt/classes/../synths/default-synths.scd WARNING: Dirt could not load some synths from default-synths.scd, because sc3plugins are necessary and missing. loading synthdefs in /Users/phlux/Library/Application Support/SuperCollider/downloaded-quarks/SuperDirt/classes/../synths/try-load-extra-synths.scd loading synthdefs in /Users/phlux/Library/Application Support/SuperCollider/downloaded-quarks/SuperDirt/classes/../synths/tutorial-synths.scd

Then when I start tidal and try to play the sample:

SuperDirt: listening to Tidal on port 57120 no synth or sample named '808bd:2' could be found. instrument not found: nil

Any hints much appreciated.

How did you add the new sample bank?

@bgold I manually created a subfolder in the Dirt-Samples folder. Then copied a sample into it. I am able to play the sample from this subfolder (new sample bank "303ptrn").

Ah ok, but you didn't change anything in SuperDirt? DId you just make the "808bd" folder and put some samples in there? It looks like SuperDirt loaded 25 samples, but it won't play more than one? Are you sure you're not confusing `sound` and `s`? Do you know what version of Tidal is installed?

@bgold Yeah... Guess I moved to using the 's' too fast. Everything works perfectly. Just needed to review the 'sound' and 's' syntax. Thanks!!!

Hello All.

I cannot get the sc3 plugins to install with the system.

Following are the steps I have taken (I am on windows10) 1) Downloaded the repo from github. 2) created extensions folder in - C:\Program Files\SuperCollider-3.8.0\Extensions 3) copied sc3 plugins there 4) rebooted superCollider interpreter

But no bite. Have tried installing both the current and the previous versions of the plugins but if I try and run

d1 $ midinote "60 62*2" # s "supersaw"

No sound plays and SuperCollider prints following to terminal

*** ERROR: SynthDef supersaw not found
FAILURE IN SERVER /s_new SynthDef not found

On removing sc3 plugins from superCollider interpreter options and re-adding and rebooting interpreter I get following

*** ERROR: SynthDef dirt_delay2 not found
FAILURE IN SERVER /s_new SynthDef not found
*** ERROR: SynthDef dirt_delay2 not found
FAILURE IN SERVER /s_new SynthDef not found
FAILURE IN SERVER /n_run Node 1003 not found
FAILURE IN SERVER /n_set Node 1003 not found

Please do advise wise folks of Tidal.

Other features are working fine on my system and have been having a blast. But would really LOVE playing with synths. Please help.

Recompiling the class library is equivalent to restarting SuperCollider. This means that if you have loaded another sample bank, you have to do this again after recompiling. You can add this bit of code you used to your startup.scd file.
